To the extraordinary ANSO Class of 2020:
We have often remarked upon your strength in numbers, and indeed, 23 of you will cross the threshold on Sunday to become Williams alumni. This weekend, though, we are reflecting on your qualitative strengths. Over the past four years, you have consistently enlivened our classrooms, our offices, and yes, even our computer screens. Thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, and insight; for your willingness to wrestle with big ideas and to take up the kinds of questions that elude straightforward answers; and for your ability to see how anthropological and sociological thinking can establish the foundation for a meaningful life.
The world needs your talents and passion. Watching you move in new directions fills us with hope for the future.
We are proud of you, we miss you, and we cannot wait to welcome you back home to the mountains.
